“F**k off back to Eton – migrants welcome”
Don’t give in to hate.
A Kingston UKIP candidate has been exposed as a sympathiser with the Nazi BNP, as the local campaign against the party steps up.
Anthony Perham, the candidate for Alexandra ward, has a deep hatred of migrants and his Facebook profile screams, “GET RID OF THE IMMIGRANTS AND STOP ANYMORE COMING IN!!” He also calls for for a proportional representation system because “it might give parties like the BNP a fighting chance”. He repeatedly calls for anyone born outside the UK to be “ousted”.
Unite Against Fascism is working with trade unions, migrant groups and others to expose UKIP as a party of the establishment that is trying to force racism deeper into our communities.
In Kingston, we’ve already started the process of standing up to UKIP and laying down a marker against their racist narrative, which attempts to blame migrants for the problems caused by the economic crisis. Trade unionists, migrants, socialists and Greens confronted UKIP’s message of hatred in Kingston town centre yesterday after Mr Perham and his friends sent up their stall – signing up 130 people up to the Stand Up To UKIP campaign, giving out loads of leaflets and talking to hundreds of people angry at UKIP’s attempts to divide ordinary people against each other.
Now it’s time to escalate the campaign to expose UKIP.
Protest at Farage’s big London meeting this Wednesday 7th May
Nigel Farage is due to appear at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminister to launch the next phase of his anti-migrant election campaign in front of the national media. Activists are organising a pro-migrant demonstration outside to show that there is opposition to his racist message. Meet 6pm and bring placards and banners!
Stand up to UKIP in Kingston on Saturday 10th May
Meet at 1pm outside the Bentall’s Centre for leafleting, petitioning and other activities to expose UKIP as a racist party of the rich and powerful.
About thirty Kingston Unite Against Fascism activists joined a 7000-strong demonstration against racist scapegoating this weekend.
The Stand Up To Racism event is the first step in a campaign to push back on the vile rhetoric about migrants being pumped out by politicians, UKIP and the right wing media.
The march through Whitehall brought together trade unions, local anti-racist groups, migrants and Roma organisations. The rally in Trafalgar Square heard speeches from Dianne Abbott MP and Carole Duggan, plus music from Ghetto and Jamie Joseph.
Simultaneous protests were held in cities around the world, with anti-racist marching in big numbers in Glasgow, Cardiff, Paris, New York and Barcelona. In Athens, 10,000 anti-fascists marched against the Nazi Golden Dawn party.

On Friday 21st February, Love Music Hate Racism is celebrating the power of music to break down division and unite people.
We know we’re in need of that unity right now. The media and the government are pushing a racist agenda that targets Muslims, migrants, Roma and others. And their racism gives a platform to thick Nazi thugs like the English Defence League, the BNP and the National Front.
So join us for a night of great music and anti-racism. Tickets are £3 – all proceeds go to Unite Against Fascism.
With Dave Randall (of Faithless fame), Tribe and more to be announced.
A gang of knuckle-draggers from the English Volunteer Force this week managed to work out how to use a camera for long enough to issue threats against a South Croydon mosque.
Alfie Smith, Dave Harding and “Marcus Croydon” videoed themselves out the Anjuman-e-Zaini Islamic Centre as they rattled a door and cobbled together the phrase “Next Friday we’re coming back and we really are going to have this place over”.
The EVF held a demonstration outside the immigration offices in Croydon last July, in a meager attempt to intimidate trade unionists who work there. The mob was joined by holocaust-denier, National Front leader and convicted violent racist Richard Edmonds, who’s running in the Worcester Park local election in May. The EVF also have links with other SW London NF Nazis, like Croydon Council candidate Tony Martin.
The EVF are planning a demonstration outside Parliament on 15th March.
An EDL member, who campaigned against a Muslim community group getting planning permission for a mosque in Purley, has been arrested for beating up his neighbour and shooting him with an air-gun.
Frank Day, from Arnhem Drive in New Addington, was passed down a 12 month community order and a £145 fine.
In February 2012, he delivered a leaflet in Purley encouraging local people to fight the conversion of a building into a mosque on the basis of the traffic problems it would supposedly cause. However, he failed to inform the locals that he’s opposed to any mosques being built anywhere, that he had been arrested on EDL demonstrations and that he’s a fanatical supporter of “racist tram woman”, Emma West.
There we have it. Not racist and not violent. Just an Islamophobe who shoots his neighbours!
